Mikael joined USVP as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence in August 2010, after more than 20 years of experience spanning the fields of semiconductors
and enterprise software.
Most recently, Mikael was Senior VP and General Manager of Nuance Communications Enterprise Division, the leading provider of On Demand and Mobile
speech solutions for Enterprises worldwide. Before being promoted to this role, Mikael had served as the General Manager of Nuance's On Demand
Division.
Prior to Nuance, Mikael co-founded and was President and CEO of BeVocal, Incorporated. In this role, he grew BeVocal into a leading provider of On
Demand speech solutions for Enterprises and sold the firm to Nuance Communications in 2007. Prior to founding BeVocal, Mikael held various technical
and product management roles.
Mikael is an active angel investor who enjoys helping early-stage technology firms grow their businesses. He also serves on the board of Silicon
Valley FACES - a non-profit organization that works to build caring and inclusive communities free of bias and bigotry by bringing young people
together through education and supporting victims of crime.

Mikael holds a Masters Degree in Engineering from Cornell and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He currently
lives in the Bay Area with his wife and two daughters
