Mike joined USVP as an Executive-in-Residence in March 2013. He has been a key executive in information technology and software companies ranging from four successful start-ups (two of which went public) to billion dollar public companies for more than twenty years.

Most recently, Mike was the CEO of Electric Cloud where he grew the company from no revenue to a leader in the DevOps market with $20M in sales and blue-chip customers across the globe.

Mike loves finding “white space” in the market and delivering new technologies to market fill it. Each of his four start-ups pioneered and ultimately led new markets.

Over the course of his career, Mike has held general management, sales, marketing and services roles. Prior to Electric Cloud, Mike co-founded and served as the Vice President of marketing & business development of MS2, an early PLM company that was sold to Agile and subsequently Oracle. Prior to MS2, Mike played an essential role in establishing new markets at Electronics for Imaging and NetFrame Systems, Inc., which led both companies to successful public offerings. Mike also served as Executive Director of Corporate Development for Informix Software (acquired by IBM) where he managed the corporate venture fund, mergers and acquisitions, product marketing strategy and venture community relationship management.

Mike holds a B.S. degree from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. The father of two, Mike is passionate about education and serves on the board of the Mountain View Los Altos High School Foundation and is the Past president of the Los Altos Educational Foundation.
